We're moving up the Song Quest ladder folks! After a brief glitch at the CBC website yesterday, Picton has moved ahead in the standings, out pacing even the City of Toronto. The push is on....the BIA is looking for 1000 votes between now and the time that nominations close. Tell your friends. Tell their friends. Tell the people standing next to you in the check out line at Sobey's. Go to: www.cbc.ca/radio2/songquest ; Click Submit; Click Ontario; Select Picton and the artist you want to immortalize the Town of Picton.
1000 votes - I'm going there now which means we only need 999 more nominations.

A very special thank you to everyone who participated in the campaign to nominate Picton as one of 13 locations for the Great Canadian SongQuest, a CBC Radio 2 Promotion that aims to immortalize Canadian communities in song. Picton has been short-listed as one of the top five Ontario communities which puts us in the running for the Great Canadian Songquest....but now the real work begins.
Starting October 12th, you, your friends, spouses, children, neighbours, customers, visitors, employees, and Facebook friends are asked to go to www.cbc.ca/radio2/songquest once each day until voting closes to select Picton as your favourite Ontario locale. You can also nominate the Canadian artist who will write the song about our beautiful town.
