A quick reminder that the BIA is hosting its annual general meeting on Thursday January 28, 2010. Dinner, hosted by the Waring House Gourmet, kicks off at 5:30 p.m. complete with a wine-tasting, hosted by Black Prince Winery. (Cost: just $10.00 per person). If you like food, wine, or networking, you should plan to attend this meeting.

The BIA has also taken this opportunity to bring together media partners from throughout the area who will be available to showcase their advertising products, rates, deadlines, BIA member prices, and vision for advertising in 2010. If your business plans to advertise in 2010, you should plan to attend this meeting.

If your business intends to participate in any of the many events hosted by the BIA or our partners in 2010, including: Maple In The County, Great Waterfront Trail Adventure, Canada Day, PEC Jazz Festival, Harvestin' The County, PEC Music Festival, or Santa Clause Parade, you should plan to attend this meeting.

If your customers or your employees enjoy the benefit of BIA partnerships with our municipality through the streetscape, use parking lots, or street furniture, you should plan to attend this meeting.

If your business has an interest in the secondary plan, retail holiday business act, or new development in Picton, you should plan to attend this meeting.

And finally, if your business is interested is representation by the Picton BIA on issues of relevence to the downtown, you should plan to attend this meeting.

Of course, we will also present an overview of activities in 2009, a 2009 financial report and will table our 2010 business plan and budget at the AGM. Richard Shannon, representing the Municipality will be on hand to share his thoughts on the importance of working collaboratively toward the economic prosperity of downtown Picton.

Therefore, if you operate a business in Picton, you should plan to attend this meeting.
